Summer Camp
In July, the Columbus, Dickens and Newton centres organise their respective summer courses in which the pupils from these centres have the chance to live together and carry out a series of sports, ecological and recreational activities together with trips, camps and excursions. Pupils at this age are more demanding and selective with the activities they want to carry out during the Summer Camp, and so programmes are structured by the teaching staff of each centre with the active participation of the pupils in designing them.Bearing in mind the bilingual nature of our School and without overlooking the educational aspect, importance is also placed on the recreational facet at this time with competitions, excursions, camps lasting several days, trips to neighbouring islands, computer workshops, musical workshops, sports and chess competitions, horse riding and sailing being organised. In addition, at this time of the year, when good weather is constant on our islands, we have an open-air swimming pool at our Dickens House centre, where children can take their first steps in swimming and enjoy the many and varied water sports in the care of staff, who are well trained for this work.
