Learn to learn
The stage of basic education is fundamentally characterized as the stage where the student acquires work skills and habits, learns to reason, acquires greater independence and autonomy from adults in order to carry out routine tasks and begins to read and write, through the use of a grid. Evidently, all of these tasks are carried out in both languages, Spanish and English, as all content is carried out in both languages.
With regards to the English language, for a student that completes their basic education, oral English is as natural as Spanish. They are used to listening, viewing and emitting phrases in this language. They do not translate, they understand. They use English games, puzzles, puppets and small role-plays or simple plays.
German and Mandarin Chinese
At this stage the child go in depth into German and Mandarin Chinese. Of course, in the first years these languages are worked with at oral level so that the students can understand their German and Chinese teachers, before beginning with the processes of reading and writing. The learning process for German and Mandarin Chinese is strictly and uninterruptedly followed until the final school exams, with the students acquiring a high control over these languages.
When a student completes the cycle of basic education, they have learned to control primary ICT devices such as digital blackboards, iPads and laptop computers, and are sufficiently prepared in the basic fundamentals in order to move to the first cycle of primary education with full guarantees.
From the age of 4 years our pupils, every year on each Christmas eve, participate in an act reserved exclusively for parents and family members, where the school celebrates some English language theater plays in the cozy environment of the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium in the evening/night, which are fitting at Christmas time and are put together by the students of the school.
Theater is an extra-curricular activity that is highly promoted by the school, due to its high educational content from a pedagogical aspect. In the rehearsals and staging of the plays, the students work on their diction, on memorizing texts, on rhythm and lose their stage fright, improving their ability to speak in public.
